FAQs
My most frequently asked questions are below.
-
Intake forms are emailed to you prior to the first session. Please read them over, fill them out and return them at least 24 hours prior to our scheduled appointment time.
If you have questions or concerns about these, we can discuss them during your first session.
-
Take some time to read through this website to ensure you that your questions and concerns are attended to. If you feel that I may be a good fit for you based on what you have read please do not hesitate to book a consultation call (15 or 20 min)
During our call, feel free to ask me what a typical session is like, or perhaps you’d like to know how I work as a psychotherapist; or any other questions that come to mind for you.
It’s important for you to know that this is your opportunity to ask questions and be curious.
During our first few sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to check in with yourself to see how you feel working with me. This is important because you’ll want to assess if you feel supported and heard about the concerns that you're bringing to our session.
-
Perhaps, you’ll want to think of our first appointment as an organic conversation through which we begin getting to know one another. I’ll invite you to share more about yourself and your reasons for therapy, and during this time we can also discuss what may or may not have been supportive for your mental health in the past.
During this time you may also want to ask me any additional questions that may have arisen for you. The most vital aspect of the first session is to notice how you feel during and after the session time. Notice, if you feel seen, heard and supported and we can discuss if you’d like to continue working together.

Great question!
While my website is written primarily to female audiences with experiences of childhood sexual trauma as well as women who have painful relationships with their mothers, my practice affirms and welcomes people of all gender expressions and identities.

In British Columbia, therapy services provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) and Registered Clinical Social Workers (RSW) are often covered by private insurance plans.
However, coverage for these services vary significantly depending on your specific insurance provider and plan.
Please contact your provider prior to your first psychotherapy session to assess whether or not Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) or Registered Clinical Social Workers (RSW) are included in your insurance plan in order to verify how your plan compensates you for these types of services.
-
Unfortunately not at this time. As such, you will be provided with a digital receipt after your session, once received this can simply be submitted to your insurance provider.
